Commissioned web work

Sites built to be used, not just looked at.

I am Mark Nemke. This page is the paid work: storefront sites for independent toy shops, and an editorial home for a practicing litigator. Fast pages, clear visits, and copy that matches the room.

What I was hired to make

Each site is a complete public front end: location, hours, offers, and a voice that belongs to the client. Open any of them.

Reckless Bricks & Toys

An independent toy and brick store on Houghton Road in Tucson. The site has to do the job of a counter conversation: where to go, when they are open, and what you can actually do once you are inside.

  • Visit page for 8110 S Houghton Rd, Suite 162, Tucson, AZ 85747, open seven days.
  • Buy, sell, and trade for sets, figures, die-cast, and loose bricks.
  • Birthday parties and a minifig and collectibles bar, written as store offers, not generic features.

Cosmic Critter Toys

A Sarasota toy shop presented by Reckless Bricks, with its own voice. Families come for plush, games, figures, and construction toys. LEGO is one aisle, not the identity of the store, and the site says that plainly.

  • 4047 Clark Rd, Sarasota, FL 34233, with weekday and Sunday hours.
  • Neighborhood framing for Bee Ridge, Gulf Gate, Palmer Ranch, and the keys, without stuffing keywords into the design.
  • Party booking and a clear partner line back to the Tucson store.

Publisherbbqcounselor.com

The BBQ Counselor

A site for a licensed litigator who explains complaints, motions, and the record behind public stories, then goes back to a backyard smoker. The design keeps the two halves in the same sentence without turning the law into a restaurant brand.

  • Latest upload pulled toward the public YouTube channel, @bbq_counselor.
  • Docket-style breakdowns, primary-source framing, and a plain disclaimer: commentary only, not legal advice.
  • Room for a direct shop on the same domain, separate from the affiliate sticker store.

How the pages are built

Light on the wire. Clear on the page.

One job per screen

A visitor should find hours, address, and the offer before they hunt for it. Navigation stays short. The phone layout is the layout, not a shrink of the desktop.

Client voice, not a template voice

Tucson bricks, Sarasota critters, and a Texas pit are not the same brand. Shared craft, different type, color, and sentence rhythm.

Findable on purpose

Titles, descriptions, and headings name the place and the person. Structured data marks the work. Pages stay static and small so they load without a framework tax.

Need the same kind of site?

Independent shops, local services, and publishers with a real audience. I design and build the public site, then hand over something you can host.
